History
Rulers of Charwas are descendants of Thakur Sahab Gopaldas, great grandson of Rao Bida of Bidasar. The Chief is an Umrao noble of Bikaner State and enjoys Dohri Tazim and Kurab Hath in Bikaner Darbar, the estate was granted to Thakur Saheb Tej Singhji, by his father Thakur Saheb Gopaldas and later received honour of Tazim by Maharaja Rai Singhji of Bikaner and consisted of 12 villages. In 1763 AD the rulers of Charwas had provided valuable assistance to State forces against the incursions of Johiyas. In 1813 AD Charwas fort was demolished on orders of Maharaja Surat Singhji of Bikaner, which led to a rebellion and conspiring against the state along with other rebels. The rulers of Charwas were later pardoned by Maharaja Ratan Singhji in 1831 AD, at the behest of Thakurs of Mandawa and Dunlod. Thakur of Charwas provided valuable support during 1857 Sepoy Revolt and were conferred with Siropav.
