History
Vana was fifth class princely state in Jhalawar prant - kathiawar division. The Taluka is an offshoot of The Wadhwan princely state. Thakore Sahib Shree Sardarsinhji Arjunsinhji (2nd son of Thakore Saheb Shree Arjunsinhji Madhavsinhji of Wadhwan) became the founder of Vana in about 1738 . He had revenue of 26,000 rupees (1903-4). The region covered a total area of 24sq miles and comprised of a total population of 3,089 in the year 1931.
After Thakore Sahib Shree Ragunathsinhji ,The Princely State of Vana was not ruled by a single monarch but was shared by several shareholders, who held the title of Rana Sahib Shree. The estate-holders of the state of Vana were Jhala Rajputs, Bhayats of Wadhwan.
