Chotila

In past the city of Dhank was ruled by a Rajput of the Wala clan. The son of this Chief married a Kathi girl of the Patgir branch. He was subsequently elected as a Chief of the Kathis. The descendants of this Chief by his Kathi wife were divided into Walas, Khachars and Khumans and were the ruling Kathis. They never intermarry due their common descent. All the Kathis worship the Sun God. One Ram Khachar conquered Chotila from Parmar Rajputs in St. 1600. Since then his descendents were in possession of the Chotila Thana villages and still dwell there. Khachar Shri Surag Sadual enjoyed the following jurisdictional powers, Criminal - Three months rigorous imprisonment and fines of up to 200rs, Civil - fines of up to 500Rs. This jurisdiction was given to him only for his life time. There was a dispute going on between him and Nana Sadul Khachar, as the Estate had already been divided. Surag Sadul's descendents having got Jinjuda and Nana Khachar's descendents keeping the original villages. But the dispute remained as the Native States were by then merged into the Union of India.
