History
The flag of Mahansar is known as the panchranga and the thikana is ruled and administrated by the three joint rulers, unlike the custom in other Thikanas. The Thakurs of Mahansar were vested with judicial power and were also accorded a cannon salute. Any judicial order's passed by the Thakurs of Mahansar was not appealable. The Thakur of Mahansar was granted the hereditary title of Rajshree and Sonanaresh by the state. The Thakur was respectfully addressed as "Shreejimaharaj" and his children as "Maharaj Kumar ". Mahansar was a Tributary Thikana, and the Thakurs held the rights of a Semi - Independent Ruler. In official documents, Mahansar was referred to as a state and Thakur as chief. The Thakurs were also exercised the right of applying Toll Tax (excise duty on goods which were imported in their villages), as well holding the ownership right on the mines. The Thakurs of Mahansar and their representatives attended ceremonies organized in the city palace, Jaipur, the Residency and A.G.G. Rajputana. When the Sardars of Mahansars were invited by HH the Maharaja of Jaipur, they were accorded the special privilege of Amanishah ka Nala by two Sardars (one Tazimi and one Khans Chowki) with Nagara Nishan, and were thus welcomed to the city of Jaipur, by the Jaipur state.
