History
The Sisodia Rajput founders migrated from Mewar and settled in Bankura District after marital alliance with the only daughter of the zamindar of Purakonda. Founded by Ganesh Singh Thakur. Sisodiya Rajputs. Rajkumari Indu Kumari Devi, the only daughter of the Raja Ram Krishna Singh Dev of Bishnupur Raj was married to Kumar Anand Ballabh Singh Thakur of Purakonda and their only son Raja Kalipada Singh Thakur succeeded to the estates of his maternal grandfather after winning in the court and becoming the last titular Raja of Bishnupur Raj.
Raja Khetra Mohan Singh Thakur, was appointed chief executor of the estates of his father in law Raja Basanta Kumar Singh Dev Kuchiakol Zamindari upon the latters death. Kumar Dr. Debabrata Singh Thakur is a renowned musician and is the last exponent of Bishnupur Gharana of Music. He has performed for the HE President of India and regularly gives concerts in Kolkata.
