History
The estate was founded in 1883. The Lal Sahebs of Dhourpur share an agnatic connection with the Surguja ruling line. This zamindari was granted to Lal Dharampal Singh Deo, younger son of Raja Bindeshwari Prasad Singh Deo Bahadur, Raja of Udaipur in Madhya Pradesh 1860/1876. He obtained the title of Raja Bahadur as a personal distinction, and was also made a Companion of the Most Exalted Order of the Star of India. Raja Bahadur Bindeshwari Singh Deo CSI brother of Raja Indrajit Singh deo of Surguja State. The family of the Raja is very ancient, and is stated to belong to the Rajputs of the Lunar race. The present ruling family is said to be descended from a Raksel Raja of Palamau.
