Served as Indian High Commssioner, concurrently accredited to Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and as Commissioner to Antigua, St. Kitts, Montsarrat, Cayman Islands & Turks & Caicos Islands 1978/1980; married 19th February 1973 at Dehra Dun, HH Maharani Hemlata Rajye, daughter of Raja Shiv Ratan Dev Singh of Poonch, and his wife, Rani Nalini Rajya Lakshmi Devi, daughter of HM King Tribhuvan of Nepal, and has issue, one son and one daughter.
- Baiji Lal Sahiba Maharajkumari Shivranjani Rajye Singh Rathore, born in Jodhpur. Educated at the Welham Girls High School, Dehra Dun, Bryanston College, Dorset, and New Hall, Cambridge, where she finished with a Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology and Anthropology. She also studied film making at the New School in New York. Presently in Jodhpur she manages the Maharaja's publishing company, Mehrangarh Publishers.
- Yuvraj Sahib Maharajkumar Shivraj Singhji, born , educated at the Mayo College, Ajmer, Eton College and Brookes, Oxford. After finishing with a degree in Business Administration he experienced working stints with the Schroder's Bank in Geneva and London, and the trading house Jardine in Hong Kong. The Yuvraj later returned to Jodhpur to assist the Maharaja in his enterprise. Married 18th November 2010 in Jaipur, to Rajkumari Gayatri Kumari (born ), daughter of Rajwar Bhanuraj Singh Pal of Askote, and has issue, one daughter and a son.

History
Marwar state was founded about 1226 with its capital of Mandore. The new capital of Jodhpur was founded about 1450 and Marwar was later renamed after the capital. The Maharaja maintains a military force of 3162 cavalry, 3653 infantry, and 121 guns, and is entitled to a salute of 21 guns (including 4 guns personal) (as of 1892).
